As the host of the Bowflex infomercial Tom was a regular guest into millions of homes everyday from 1996 to 2009. Behind the scenes, Tom has been a Licensed Physical Therapist since 1983 specializing in Exercise Mechanics and Strategic Progression.
Tom served as a biomechanics consultant specializing in commercial exercise equipment design and use for Cybex from 1995 to 1998. From 1999 to 2009 he consulted exclusively with industry founder Nautilus. He consulted on home exercise equipment exclusively with industry leader Bowflex from 1995 to 2009.
Tom was the Biomechanics Specialist for the National Academy of Sports Medicine from its inception in 1989 until 1998. In 1996 he co-founded the RTS® - Resistance Training Specialist® program, the only continuing education and certification program in the nation specializing in Exercise Mechanics.
In 1988 Tom opened Focus On Fitness® a health and fitness facility specializing in personal training, physical therapy, and alternative health options directly related to exercise. This facility continues to operate in Oklahoma City and is the site for the Mastery level courses (RTSM) of the RTS program.
Tom first lectured nationally in 1989 and internationally in 1991. He has been a guest speaker at such renowned organizations and institutions as IDEA, Purdue University, Medical University of South Carolina, and has served as a keynote speaker at the Mayo Clinic Sport Medicine Symposium and the IDEA Personal Training Summit. Tom has been quoted in virtually every fitness magazine and was the host of the syndicated fitness magazine show Naturally Fit airing regionally in 1999 and 2000. Tom was also the overall winner of the 1985 NPC Oklahoma Bodybuilding Championship.
